McDonalds Gunshop was established in 1965 by Barry McDonald. It was originally located in Hopkins Street, Footscray in Melbourne, Australia. In 1976 Keith McAuliffe began managing the store at Hopkins Street. In 1979 McDonalds Gunshop moved to its current location at Barkly Street, Footscray, and in 1985 Keith purchased the business from Barry McDonald. Keith has hunted extensively across Australia, mainly for deer. He has made four trips to New Zealand, hunting for Red Deer, Whitetail and Chamois. He has taken a four week trip to South Africa and Botswana, hunting in the Okovango Delta.
