The inspiration for our name is the doughty herdwick sheep, a breed unique to England’s Lake District and symbolic of the rugged beauty and charm of this special landscape. Above The Inn, WasdaleHello, we are Peter and Kate Kelsall and between us we run Herdwick Landscapes. I have been familiar with the Lake District since a child. When I married Kate in 1993 this was where I took her to spend our honeymoon. In 2002 we were lucky enough to be able to buy a holiday home on a quiet farm to the east of Windermere. Since then we have spent much of our free time there. We have a shared interest in the vernacular architecture of Cumbria and the Borders.
